In this article, I identify patterns of diagnostic, prognostic and motivational framing in the social media content of youth-led climate groups. The article also identifies potential areas of improvement in climate communications by youth groups. Further, it argues that blind copying of the Fridays For Future method of protesting in Global South countries hinders the expansion of the movement. The need for integrating new methods of protest with the existing protest vocabulary of environmental movements in India is also emphasised throughout the article.

The article has been published as part of the knowledge archive of RePLITO ("Beyond Social Cohesion: Global Repertoires of Living Together"). RePLITO is an exploration project funded in the framework of the Grand Challenge Initiative Social Cohesion by the Berlin University Alliance (2021-2024).

Millions of corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds are being diverted towards such efforts. This begets the question- 'How truly effective are clean-up drives? Do these efforts absolve the growing middle class of their consumerism and subsequent environmental degradation?
